The Church and Financial Stewardship?

Every Sunday the Pastor or their assignee exhorts members to give a tithe and/or an offering. Every week members contact the local church for financial assistance (utilities, food, rent, burial, etc) yet only 10% of churches have a "ministry" in places that teaches members how to be good stewards (managers) of 100% of their income.

This may explain why 7 out of 10 members do not have life insurance. 65% have $500 or less in emegency savings, over 70% have no or very little money set aside for retirement, over 89% have no college savings plan, and for every $1.00 eatn the average member spends $1.40 to repay debts.

Upon further examination, 85% of pators have no theological training on financial stewardship and fewer than 20% of churches have a financial plan in place for the pastor. Scripture states it is " required of a steward that they be found faithful"       1 Cor. 4:2
