FAMILY MATTERS by Arleen Dorn 2009.

Mother, father, sister, brother
grandparents, aunts,a significant other

family can mean so many things
but nothing can replace all the joy they bring

they come in all sizes
they come in all groups
family is the circle of life
each generation in a loop

Since the beginning of time
family has been the heartbeat of life
whether we were brought up in love
or whether we were brought up in strife

God always intended for family to be the start
of how we learn, how we grow and matters of the heart

those people who see you day in and out
those people who really know what you are about

those ones that always lend a helping hand
even if they'd rather not, they still try to understand

some families smile, hug, and say I love you in between
some yell and scream and you've just got to know what they mean

some speak their mind and communicate well
some rarely ever speak unless there's something "real" important to tell

but there is one thing that all families share
and that is our need for each other and how we really care

we must look to God Our Father, as the perfect pattern
just follow His ways and let His word be the lantern

It will light the path to a much better way
of understanding each other and how we communicate

From the time we are born until we leave this earth
someone will influence our thoughts, our ways, and our worth

family was created to give us a system of support and stability
from those who love us and teach us in humility

Even those of us who are Christians must realize
that at home is where true discipleship really lies

We cannot only save the world and minister to the uttermost
and forget about the souls at home that need us the most

True ministry starts at home with your spouse, your parent or your child
Loving them and letting them see Christ in your ways, your walk and your smile

Training up your child so when they're old they will not depart
Even if we aren't successful, at least you have done your part

Love your wife as you love yourself,
submitting to your husband before anyone else

Children obey your parents for this is right
loving our neighbors , serving Our Father that we may have long life

You fathers work to provide a home
looking only to God as your source
lead your family to church and it will keep the your blessings on course.

You mothers show them a loving and tender way
teach them to clean, cook, sing and pray

show them how you depend on God to keep you drama-free and strong
and use your influence to promote unity and harmony ... not anything wrong

let us all pray before we go to sleep at night
and learn to say good morning and have a good night

let us hug and touch and say I love you often if not everyday
let's learn to be angry without ruining everyone's day

Lord help us to put you first and keep family next
that we can be victorious over all of life's tests

Through all situations, circumstances and all types of weather
A family that love's each other and prays together
really does stay together

God Bless our Families in Jesus's Name. Amen.
