"CHURCH A GOOD AND RIGHTEOUS MAN"

Living on the East side of town, In a small, two bedroom house, located on 219 North park street, a place called "the Snake Pit" we called it home.

My father, Rev,Church Spaulding, worked for the city picking up the garbage and the treasures of the earth.

On his everyday route smiling and working hard, making a way to care for His family. When daddy came home I would jump on his leg and ride his boot as he walk to His chair to set down, not realizing how tried he would be from his days work, he was my hero. He spoke about God's word every where he went, I remember the song he sung:

 

 

“Everywhere he went, He was doing good, everywhere he w-e-n-t,

M-y L-o-r-d,   was doing Good,

When the people saw him,

they started walking, they started talking, like they should, everywhere He went, m-y L-O-R-D was doing G-O-O-D”

I'll never forget that song my father taught me as a little girl.
