MY BROTHER'S PRAYER ON BENDED KNEES

Down on my knees I offer a simple prayer

Not for me but for those whom I share

A common bond woven by a single thread

Not for me but for them as I bow my head

Thanks for their friendship you've bestowed

Grateful am I for the seeds that we've sowed

On bending knee I beseech your loving grace

In heartache wipe the tears from their face

In a silent moment just between you and I

I pray you give understanding as they cry

Tis not for me for truly you know my needs

Yet I pray for those who've planted a seed

For in them I've found the true gift of life

Blessed are we for truly it was not by sight

Knowing that which lives within you control

Two spirits coming together as you console

Thus a loved is shared that few comprehend

I send this prayer to acknowledge my friend

Grateful this morning when I opened my eyes

Thus I reach out to share what I feel inside
