Christian Soldiers: Beware of Friendly Fire

Physical Military Warfare- Friendly Fire In comparison to Spiritual Military Warfare- Friendly Fire

Physical Military Warfare- Friendly Fire:
Friendly Fire is defined as weapons fire from allied or friendly forces, as opposed to fire coming from enemy forces or enemy fire.

Friendly fire is inadvertent firing towards one's own or otherwise friendly forces while attempting to engage enemy forces, particularly where this results in injury or death. Another term for such incidents is fratricide, a word that originally refers to the act of a person killing their brother.

Addressing friendly fire:
Friendly fire is often seen as an inescapable result of combat. Attempts to reduce this effect by military leaders generally come down to identifying the causes of friendly fire and overcoming repetition of the incident through training, tactics and technology.
Causes:
Fog of war incidents fall roughly into two classes
Errors of position
on
Where fire aimed at enemy forces accidentally ends up hitting one's own
Errors of identification
Where friendly troops are mistakenly attacked in the belief that they are the enemy.
A number of situations can lead to or exacerbate the risk of friendly fire.

Solutions:
Training &Tactics
Most militaries use extensive training to ensure troop safety as part of normal co-ordination and planning, but are not always exposed to possible friendly-fire situations to ensure they are aware of situations where the risk is high.

Military Spiritual Warfare- Friendly Fire
"But," God says, "I was very angry with them, for their hearts were always looking somewhere else instead of up to me, and they never found the paths I wanted them to follow." Hebrews 3:10

Prayer the Weapon of Warfare

Addressing friendly fire:

Christian soldiers are advancing victoriously reclaiming God’s people in the Name of Jesus. God ‘s army is prophetically and strategically moving forward with the Word of God; capturing what Satan thought he had in custody, we must be careful we are not distracted and lose aim of the target, Satan and his army, NOT EACH OTHER . The word says that Satan is a trickster and an unreliable source of information. John 8:44 speaks of him as a liar, the father of all lies. His existence places humans in extreme peril. 1 Peter 5:8 describes him as a dangerous entity, a roaring lion, who roams all over the earth "seeking whom he may devour." Satan is also called the accuser of our brethren who accuses Christians before God day and night (Revelation 12:10)

The Bible describes Satan as having a personal army of demons (from "daimon" meaning "intelligent" in Greek) to assist him. He leads a personal army of demons (Matthew 12:24)

We must be careful not to let the enemy pit us (soldiers for the Lord) against each other. There is an old military adage that says “Together we stand; divided we fall.” Scripturally meaning, follow the words of Romans 12:16 KJV)
“Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits”; or as the New International Version is written “live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited”.

Romans 8:5-7 (KJV)
5For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
6For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

Causes:
Errors of position
…Be sure to stay in position casualties of friendly -fire are caused predominately when we are unaligned with the words of God and each other.
1. Obey the Word of God.
2. Be a good listener – Know God’s voice and Know the voice of those He has sent.
3. Be a good follower (soldier). One that never learns to follow will never learn to lead.
4. Hear+ Obey +Follow= Pleasing God
5. Know Your Enemy +Know Your Weapon + Know Your People = Leading God’s People Effectively
6. Know Your Fellow Soldiers+ Know Their Position= Knowing Your Position

What man [is] he that feareth the LORD? Him shall he teach in the way [that] he shall choose. (Psalms 2512)

Errors of identification
Matthew 7
Judging Others- Unrighteous Judgment
“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. Matthew 7:1

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness :( 2 Timothy 3:16)

In summarization, I heard a word (Psalms 144) from the man of God on “Kingdom Sunday Service” this morning. This biblical scripture brought into perspective; a past prophetic dream, the Holy Spirit’s warning of friendly fire, and being led to the teaching and meditation of the above writing I have shared with you.

Psalm 144:1-2;15
1Blessed be the LORD my strength which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight. 2My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me.
15Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the LORD

Tactics
Ephesians 4(NK J V)
Walk in Unity
1 I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, 2 with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, 3 endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

"Onward, Christian Soldiers" is a 19th century English hymn. The words were written by Sabine Baring-Gould in 1865, and the music was composed by Arthur Sullivan in 1871. Sullivan named the tune "St. Gertrude," after the wife of his friend Ernest Clay Ker Seymer, at whose country home he composed the tune.[1][2] The Salvation Army adopted the hymn as its favoured processional.[3] The hymn's theme is taken from references in the New Testament to the Christian being a soldier for Christ, for example II Timothy 2:3 (KJV): "Thou shalt endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ."

Thank you so much for your very true words. May I also add, that friendly fire sometimes happens when we allow ourselves to entertain doubt, fear, and allow the enemy to fool us into thinking that we are all alone in our struggles. This is when we need to loudly proclaim that God has not forgotten about us."... They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall run and not grow weary, they shall mount up upon the wings of eagles..."
