Pray - Listen - Act

In any situation, we can take three simple steps to see our way through: Pray, listen, and act. Prayer attunes us to God. It quiets our minds, stills our emotions, and prepares us to receive direction. Prayer turns us temporarily away from the conditions that concern us, so that we are open to ideas for solving them.

During prayer we pause, ready to hear or to sense from within for an answer. Listening to God means waiting for the right ideas to illumine our minds. Intuitively sensing a course of action and accepting it readies us for the kind of action that cannot fail to bless and prosper us. "But be doers of the word, and not merely hearers. James 1:22
