SPOUSAL ABUSE

"BUT UNTO THE WICKED GOD SAYS WHAT HAS THOU TO DO TO DECLARE MY STATUTES OR THAT YOU SHOULD TAKE MY COVENANT IN YOUR MOUTH? SEEING YOU HATE INSTRUCTION AND YOU CAST MY WORDS BEHIND YOUR BACK."
Psalms 50:16-17

Spousal abuse comes in many forms. It may come as physical, sexual, emotional and mental abuse.

Spousal abuse in any form is prohibited by God and is contrary to the word of God and way of the Lord for dealing with your spouse.

"And this you have done again covering the altar of teh Lord with tears and weeping, and with crying out, inasmuch that He regards not your offering any more, or receives it with good will at your hand.
Yet you say, Wherefore? Because the Lord has been a witness between you and your wife of your youth, angainst whom you have dealt treacherously, yet she is your wife. of your covenant.......Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of your youth." Malachi 2:13-15

You must realize that your spouse is not just your spouse, but your spouse is God's son or daughter first.

You must realize that God has exclusive ownership and rights of your spouse above yours.

Every man will have to give an account to God for how you treat your wife, how you relate to your wife and how you deal with your wife.
Here and now you will have to answer to God for it.

We have been commanded by God to love one another.
Love does not control.
Love does not manipulate.
Love does not intimidate.
Love does not threaten,.
Love does not hurt.
Love is gentle.
Love is kind.
LOVE SEEKS TO DO NO HARM.
LOVE SEEKS DOES NO EVIL
Love does not repay with evil or vengeance.

Love is the fulfilling of every law, even the laws of marriage.

We dont' even have the right to declare God's word with our mouth when we are not living up to it His word. We are as casting God's words behind our back, going about to teach or preach it without love, power and authority.

If God's word that we are preaching and teaching is not affecting and changing us first, we can't expect our teaching and preaching to affect any one else.

O' man, O' woman, don't you know, it is time to repent and turn from your wicked ways that I may heal you you, heal your marriage and heal your land. For why would you die as a fool dies.

"Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby you have transgressed and make you a new heart and a new spirit; for why will you die, O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of him who dies, says the Lord God; wherefore turn your selves and live." Exekiel 18:31-32

Beloved we have been warned by God here to turn from spousal abuse which is called "wicked" by God. If we treat our spouse based on our culture, society's standards or the way we were raised or taught, and if it is not according to the word of God, then it is totally wrong. The Lord God is summoning us to love one another even as Christ have loved us and gave Him self a ransom for us. We must relate to God's righteous people, that is our spouse or mates as God's chosen people first.
