The Lady Is A Leader…And She’s Engaged!!!

Congratulations are in order! Let’s release the streamers, and allow the confetti to flow freely! Excitement is in the air…the planning must begin, people to contact, phone calls to make, e-mails to send…Hey wait a minute, this is not the type of engagement which we see so often, this engagement provokes The Lady Leader to be fully “engaged” in her journey to success.
As I was penning this month’s blog, the title itself had me in a mood of excitement; a mood which I found could be contagious, had I shared this great announcement. In that very moment, the Lord made a great deposit which I felt compelled to share with you.
Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest. Ecclesiastes 9:10
As we each are given an opportunity, let’s “engage” our thoughts, visions, plans and gifts to be instruments of excellence for the purpose of HIS glory! Too often when we share what we believe we are “engaged” to do, the overwhelming opinions of others begin to contaminate the purity of the assignment God has given us.
There was a movie which was released a few years ago entitled “The Bucket List”. This movie shared the visions of two gentleman who became engaged in the dreams they wanted to fulfill before their demise. As I began to ponder this writing in Ecclesiastes, I began to wonder, how many of us are engaged in our “bucket list”, how many of us are pro-active in the events which we desire to see come to fruition?
So often a Bride-To-Be shares the news of her engagement, and no sooner than the words escape her mouth- her family and friends begin to plan, and interject their thoughts on HER engagement. Unfortunately, sometimes the Bride-To-Be becomes so submissive to their vision, that she no longer plays an active role in her own wedding plans.
The book of Ecclesiastes impresses upon each of us that…”whatsoever thy hand findeth to do…” You may be the greatest leader ; do so with all thy might…you may be the greatest assistant; do so with all thy might. Become fully engaged in what God has called you to do. Numerous years of ministry has developed in me a great respect for those who are engaged to “assist”. As one who has assisted, and continues to assist many in ministry, I don’t believe the value of the gift of “doing it with all thy might” is quite understood; at least in my opinion. One who assists in the vision is priceless; how do you think a great movie would be acknowledged without the dynamic assistants who work behind the scenes? Great restaurants advertise their finest cuisine; yet we all know without those who “prep” the ingredients for the meal, it could be a total disaster. This is because the assistants and prep cooks are engaged in presenting a desirable presentation.
Being engaged; is to be committed to a cause, involved and occupied…there are diverse areas of being an engaged Lady Leader..so we may present a desirable presentation to the Father.
a. Become genuinely committed to what God has placed in your hand:
I am therefore grateful that God would choose me for this assignment, so I will honor Him by being fully committed to the gift He’s given me.
b. Become “involved” with the assignment God has placed in your hand
Whatsoever God has given me, I will execute my assignment with grace, wisdom and integrity. Studying to fulfill God’s purpose in my life.
c. Become occupied with the assignment God has placed in your hand
My mind is “stayed” on Him, so that I am adhering to His guidance so I may complete His will with excellence. My residence of thought is do his will with urgency.
An engaged Lady Leader does not have the time, nor energy to become intimidated, or envious of the gifts of others, because whatsoever she puts her hand to do, she is doing it with all her might!
Once she closes her eyes in death…there is no more working the vineyard, no more going in the highways and hedges, no more speaking into the lives of others…I beseech you don’t die disengaged.
Remember, whatever you do, and wherever you go…
Always
