There has been a profound statement in my life, which the Lord gave me a few years ago
"Everything is not profitable to say"
Being a communicator, this deposit within my life became more relevant than I would ever imagine. Of course when God places a word within your inner being, there is a shifting of sort; the shifting or evolving may be painful, and very eye opening.
While defining this communication, I was led on a journey of recent conversations, some of which were life changing, some of which were normal every day dialog.
"Every comment does not warrant a response and every response does not command a comment"
The above statement provoked me to take an inventory of my "comments and responses", and I must say I was truly convicted by some of my actions. Because we don't agree with someones thoughts or convictions does not give us the right to respond. I am aware of The First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States, which allows each of us the freedom of free speech. However, does free speech include the fact that we "must" make comments which may wound or infringe our opinion to the point it belittles someone else?
I wouldn't go as far as to say that my comments belittled, but as I take a snapshot of statements I may have made in the past, I wonder were they beneficial to the parties involved? While not meaning to harm, do I consider the state of being of the person before I interject my "words of wisdom"?
James 1:19
"Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak..."
As the Lord has matured me in numerous areas, and He continues to do so, I realize now as a Lady Leader, my most important response is to "listen" with my whole heart, empathize with my spirit man, and recognize the gift of "listening". So often when someone is speaking to us, we may "hear" what they are saying with the organ we call an "ear", but are we listening to them with the "organ" God gave us called the "heart".
A great lesson I've learned is that once I activate the "shh anointing" in my life, I can listen with the spirit of Christ, which allows me to exercise my right to freedom of speech, the freedom to be slow, deliberate and full of compassion. While being mindful in our responses, yet understanding when there is a need to execute discipline, awareness and even anger. If we listen with the mind of Christ, even our responses will be soothing and deliver a measure of healing.
There are numerous wounds, illnesses and conflicts in our environment, I hope you will join me and choose to be a Lady Leader, and become an asset in the lives of others, even in our responses.
