Straight Talk Concerning The Travel Agent Distribution System.

Hello Fellow Travel Professionals,
Welcome to my newsletter where I discuss the travel agent distribution system with straight talk, sometimes with humorous thoughts and sometimes down right provocative.
Consumers are a little more savvy which also contributed to the downsizing of companies like Global Travel International and putting a hurt on the likes of YTB, Traverus or World Travel Ventures
.
TRUE which provided a code that identified the travel agent to the supplier. It was very helpful at the beginning as it helped many travel agents get started in the business. Although there was no guarantee to the supplier that the code holder was a well trained travel agent, it did provide a potential contact.

TRUE is a for-profit entity with its revenue not necessarily being utilized for additional training and education as is the non-profit entities of IATAN and CLIA. I believe that the profits from travel photo ID cards should in some manner accrue to the benefit of travel agents and not to possibly line someone's pockets.

If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, talks like a duck, I would say it's a "card mill" in a duck suit I think it's time for TRUE to end the hypocrisy and come out of the closet
