It is that time of year when even those that do not possess the physical fitness gene jumps into the gym or begins a fitness routine. Healthy and physically fit bodies become an immediate focus for many. It is a wonderful thing to take care of the temple but what of the spirit which dwells in the temple?
So I thought you might want to join me in a vigorous work out for the New Year.
You will want to stick to a consistent schedule. I recommend, 17 Evening and morning and at noon I will pray, and cry aloud, And He shall hear my voice. Psalm 55:17(NKJV)
Begin on your knees…now this is a good warm up. You really do not want to begin fitness training before you do this. It is important right here to tap into your source with prayer. This will ensure improved performance, and less risk of injury, you will have a better range of motion so that no matter what you face, you can be sure you are prepared.
Stretching-Now this is very important. Stretch your faith muscles. There may some resistance in the beginning as doubt and unbelief makes these muscles extremely weak but the more you stretch the stronger the faith muscle becomes. Faith then becomes the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not see. You will not even have to see it to know it is working.
Cardio-this part of the fitness plan will build your stamina and ensure confidence. You will need a good Bible for this exercise. If you do not see immediate results, continue this on a daily basis and before you know it will strengthen your heart and your ability to keep moving regardless of the difficulty involved. This is a good way to work for results. Want to make it happen? Stay in the word.
Workout Partner -You will need a fitness partner to keep you committed and to encourage you when you feel like giving up. My friend Jesus has already arranged for this when he promised, 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— John 14:16 (NKJV) 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. John 14:26 (NKJV) You can be assured that this helper will encourage you and stand by you even in the most difficult times.
Toning- This will allow you to target those trouble spots. Now you may have some bruising and sore spots but you can be certain 18 For He bruises, but He binds up; He wounds, but His hands make whole.19 He shall deliver you in six troubles, Yes, in seven no evil shall touch you. Job 5:18-20 (NKJV)
Cool down: Sit quietly and meditate, this will allow the word to work in you. When I remember You on my bed,I meditate on You in the night watches. Psalm 63:6 (NKJV)
Get plenty of REST: Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 1 Peter 1:13 (NKJV)
For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it. Exodus 20:11 So the people rested on the seventh day. Exodus 16:30
Father; we thank you that it is your desire that we prosper and be in good health.. We honor your word and thank you that it shall be manifest in our lives.
