Hold on, It's Not What You Think!

Sis Sadiqua Pettaway is one of our prayer leaders and this is what she shared with us one morning. It has helped me through some, what I thought were serious issues, until I reread this teaching. I pray it helps you.

The attack against the natural things in my life has nothing to do with those natural things of my life. It has to do with using the attack to bring on spiritual discouragement that will cause me to get out of character, get out of step with God and stop praying and start taking things in my own hands and start doing things my own way and cause me to operate in a way that is contrary to the intended plan and purpose of God for my life. If the intimacy between me and God which based upon character is disrupted and destroyed the the abortion of the gift and call will happen. If the enemy can cause a disruption in the business of God, he will get me discouraged. The enemy is constantly walking to and fro upon the earth wondering, what can I do to destroy the life in the spirit man? The answer is to destroy the call, destroy the gift. We look at things financially, physically and in relationships. We zone in on the territory while we are missing the reason why there is an attack. The reason why there is an attack is because there is a call on my life. If there were no call on my life there could not be an attack. No call, no reason for the enemy to come. First my call is to come to the Lord in salvation and then the attacks begin. On my family, on my relationships, on my body, on my finances. The enemy may come in like a flood, but God said that He will raise a standard against him. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but God will bring them out of them all. It makes no difference how rich, how peaceful, how healthy you are, it doesn't matter. If he can get me discouraged he can paralyze me from accomplishing God's intended purpose for my life. The devil is jealous, he doesn't want God proud of me, he doesn't want God protecting me. If I lay down in my fire I will be burned beyond recognition. Stand up like Shadrack, Meshak and Abednego did in the fiery furnace (Dan. 3:20). Stand up and know that God is loosing you from the bondage that has held you captive for tooo long. He's loosing my everything and He knows that I am able to bare it so I've got to stand up and let the devil know that no matter what, he ain't getting my call! Trouble has a voice, trouble will speak and tell me to stop doing what I am anointed to do. The anointing is a burden removing yoke destroying manifestation. The anointing is my survival in a world that wants to drain me every time I turn around. When I do what I am anointed to do I start to encourage myself in the Lord. Be encouraged in the things of God. Encourage myself in the Lord because God is right there by my side. Know that He has a call on my life, He has placed an anointing and a gift upon me so know that God is here to empower me and no matter what the devil brings, God has already given me what I need to be able to bare it. Trust in the Lord with all thy heart, lean not on thy own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct thy path. Be not wise in thine own eyes, fear the Lord and depart from evil. Prov. 3:5-7. Be encouraged today, let no discouragement take over your life.
