International Movement of Repentance and Revival

God wants all to be saved; nations around the world are in a state of crisis and their leaders are looking for answers. We must repent and turn to God, and pray, and God must see us repenting, then God will heal our lands.

A call has been made to mark July 18, 2009 a Day to effect an International Movement of Repentance and Revival. Actions has commenced across the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Africa, and India to launch this movement. The goal is to bring people around the world on July 18, 2009, to acknowledge their sins, repent and turn to God; then to move to bring forth revivals throughout the world.

Here are some of the suggestions for the day. (1) Marching in cities and towns throughout the world (2) Religious gatherings (3) Church Services (4) Ringing of Church Bells ( 5) Witnessing two by two throughout the day (5) Repentance and Revival Services. Recognizing repentance and revival is and must be an ongoing effort; however the objective is to commence this movement on this day and give God the Glory in the name of JESUS for an international impact. In the United Kingdom, plans are well underway to mark this day with a march in Hyde Park for Repentance and Revival.

Would it be wonderful in the United States, if we had peace as the river, righteousness as the waves of the sea, established in righteousness, having no fear, far from oppression, living in a place where terror will not come near us, and God will lead us in the direction that we should go and God showing us how to profit? If we hearken to His commandments, this can be realized.

Isaiah 48:17-18 says, "Thus saith the Lord, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the Lord thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go. O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea:" This was written to Israel. For the future glory of Zion, Isaiah writes at Isaiah 54:13-14 says, "And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children. In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee."

God has blessed America; however today we are not experiencing peace as a river or righteousness as the waves of the sea, and we are struggling to find ways to profit as a nation. God explains in Jeremiah 18:7-10 how He applies His judgments to nations. “At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it; if that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them. And at what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it; if it do evil in my sight, that obey not my voice, then I will repent of the good, wherewith I said I would benefit them.”

As recorded in Romans 15:4, “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were for our learning…” Today we must learn from the King and the people of Nineveh. The lessons are recorded in the book of Jonah, chapter 3. When Jonah cried out to the people that Nineveh would be overthrown in forty days the people believe him. The people humbled themselves. And when the word of the Lord came to the King of Nineveh, the King arose from his throne, and laid his robe from him, and covered him with sack clothe and sat in ashes.” In other words, the king humbled himself. (Jonah 3:4-6)

The king and the people of Nineveh repented. When the king and the people humbled themselves, and turned from their evil, this caused God to repent. Jonah 3:10 says, “And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.

Prophet Elmore Richmond Jr. of Healing the Land Leadership Conference of America explains, This is our watch, God has revealed to me that this nation will face calamity after calamity until this nation repent and turn to Him. I wrote former President George W. Bush thirteen times while he was in office, members of the U. S. House of Representatives and Senate, and religious leaders throughout the country; I have noted the revelations in three books to no avail. Nevertheless, all revelations have come to pass. America needs to be healed. Surely this is a movement of God. We must pray and ask God to guide us every step of the way. The hour of the Lord judgments has come, we must learn to fear God based on His precepts and preach the everlasting gospel. The time for action is now. For the Lord is watching us and listening for our prayers. If we should repent and turn to God, God will heal our land. Then 2 chronicles 7:15 applies to us today, “Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent upon the prayer that is made in this place.” Thus we must understand that it is time for praying and action.

Fellow Planners, this is a movement of God; God has called you to be in charge to help effect this movement in your community. Through the power of the Holy Ghost, we can make this happen. With God on our side, we have all the connections to effect this movement. Do not take action for vain-glory; however take action for the glory of God. This is not a day for lifting names of groups or individuals; however, it is a day to lift up the name of JESUS, giving glory to God. To make this most meaningful, first pray, then help inform your community about this movement through press releases, networks over the web, etc. Next, work to organize your community to work on one accord, to develop plans to mark this day. Help announce all events.

However, in America there is another problem that we must address. There are many individuals who profess Christianity who do not acknowledge the sins of the nation. There is a reason for this state of mind.

Before the doom of Jerusalem, God poured a spirit of deep sleep on all the people. At Isaiah 29:10-13 states, “For the Lord hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered. And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed. And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned. Wherefore the Lord saith, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men.” Like Judah, a spirit of deep sleep has been poured out on the people here in America many have been taught to fear God from the precepts of men. Therefore, they must be awaken and fed the by the Spirit of Truth; the Spirit of God within us as we work to strengthen our brethrens.

Let us take action now to mark July 18, 2009, An International Movement of Repentance and Revival.
