The Truth about Prosperity - according to the Word of God

THE TRUTH ABOUT PROSPERITY ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE

 

I have heard so many lies of the devil that many Christians believe about “Prosperity Preachers” and one person even said that prosperity preachers are a reason for why the economy is the way it has been the past few years, though the Lord is blessing us with the healing of it.  So, in rebuttal, I am going to show you the truth about prosperity, and what it means and how you are able to obtain it.  You cannot just believe a pastor who preaches prosperity, unless he abides by the ways to become prosperous according to the Word of God and the Kingdom of God way of living.  Now know this:  I am speaking from experience on this - for I have reached my resting place in my Sabbath – who is Christ Jesus.  According to the Word of God I have done and have accomplished all things that it takes to become Holy, Righteous and Dead to Sin (sinning no more).  In order to accomplish this, I repented, rededicated my life to the Lord, and made Him the engine and the Lord in my life, in which I have true faith in God in all things.  Everything that occurs in my life is His Plan.  When the enemy is “testing my Faith”, to try to cause me to doubt God or lack in faith, I give God the glory in any and all circumstances, bad or good. I know that I am blessed going into the test and I am blessed going out.  I bless God no matter what is going on in my life, and I thank God for all things.  God is the Power of all things – and He is in control of all things, and Jesus has never left His Throne.  He finished everything on the 6^th day of creation and rested on the 7^th day, not because of being sleepy or tired, but because He was finished in His Works. Therefore, before God even created man, He made sure that man would have all things that he would ever want, need or desire – so that he too, could rest in the finished works of the Lord – the true Sabbath.

 

When I first joined World Changers Church International in 2005, as soon as I moved to Georgia, USA, I had migrated from Marin County, CA.  During my years of living in California, which had been over 30+ years, we were never taught the truth of God and His Word.  Therefore, anyone who spoke on prosperity was told to us that it was a lie.  Well, that is a devil’s lie, so that you will not know the truth of God  so that you will always remain in bondage to Satan.  Lack and poverty is bondage to Satan and his kingdom – which is the world’s way of doing things.  I would not listen to Creflo Dollar when he spoke on prosperity, because I did not want God to think that “I just wanted money or something from Him.”  Well folks, I had also believed the devils lie and was always in lack and did not increase and did not live in abundance.  But God saw me through, moved me to the South where the truth of God is spoken, and with my changed mindset to the Word of God and the Kingdom of God way of living only – the lies of the devil were revealed and now I know the wiles of the devil - even before he has a chance to "try to make" a demonic suggestion.

 

The Kingdom of God is not broke, and as you are a child of God and a citizen of the Kingdom of God, the world’s way of doing things should never affect you.  Not even the fact of the decrease of the dollar or the loss of jobs.  In fact, if you are a true Christian who abides by and honors (obeys) God and His Word – you would experience increase and abundance, when the rest of the world is experiencing lack.  There are many keys that open up the door for prosperity, but let me get this one thing straight.  Prosperity is not just monetary or about your finances.  Prosperity is the very fact of a healed mind, body, soul, spirit family, relationships and your finances.  You cannot say you have cancer, and then say that you are prosperous, for your body is not healed.   Let us look at the scriptures on prosperity, for in order to receive blessed prosperity in all areas of your life, by the Grace (unmerited favor) and Glory (power) of God, the first thing is to put God first in your life, by making Him the first and only person on your list of priorities.  Then you are to honor (obey) God always in all things that you do.  Then when you seek the kingdom of God first, then all things will follow – which includes prosperity in all areas of your life.  I will use different interpretations of the bible to help with the understanding of it for you, for those who feel that the King James Version is hard to understand.

 

We will begin with the scripture that is vital for prosperity.

 

Matthew 6:33

Then we will study this scripture below:

 

Philippians 4:19

¹⁹ And my God will liberally supply (fill to the full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

 

Before we move on further in this teaching, you must know that God has supplied all that you need here in earth in your daily walk in life – which includes all of your wants, needs and desires at the time of the creation of the foundation of the planet.  But what many Christians do not realize is that they MUST rest in His finished works to receive it.  You will have to labor in Faith in order to reach the true Sabbath – who is Christ (it is not a Sunday or a Saturday).  The Messiah is the true Sabbath.  Please read below:

Heb.4 Explains of those not entering His rest was because of their unbelief 3:19. 

Heb. 4:3-11 “For we who have believed do enter that rest, as He has said: “So I swore in My wrath, they shall not enter My rest,” although the works were finished from the foundation of the world For He has spoken in a certain place of the seventh day in this way: “And God rested on the seventh day from all His works”; and again in this place: “They shall not enter My rest Since therefore it remains that some must enter it, and those to whom it was first preached did not enter because of disobedience, again He designates a certain day, saying in David, “Today,” after such a long time, as it has been said: “Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts. For if Joshua had given them rest, then He would not afterward have spoken of another day. There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.”

The question that needs to be answered: is God telling us to keep the Sabbath day or something much more. The “Sabbath rest” should not be equated with the keeping of the 7th day Sabbath of the Old Covenant, because the Israelites who did keep it did not enter this “rest.” The writer explains there is “another Day.” Since Joshua and Israel kept the 7th day Sabbath this must mean something other than what Sabbatarians interpret it as. Joshua did not bring them into this day nor did he enter it himself.

David spoke of another day of rest.  Heb.4:7-8... “saying in David, TODAY, after so long a time, as it is said, TODAY if you will hear his Voice, harden not your hearts. For if Joshua had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of ANOTHER DAY? There remains therefore a rest for the people of God.” Joshua whose Hebrew name is equal to Jesus spoke of the one who came to deliver this rest. This was another day not a specific day like the 7^th but a life that is given to all through the Messiah.

If there is another day then it isn’t Saturday. There is another rest that the author is referring to in the future. The Israelites did not enter God's rest because of unbelief, not having faith but they did keep the Sabbath. They had the rules and regulations the oracles, but it was not mixed with faith. God has always looked to our heart, our attitude in the Spirit. The word for rest in vs.9 is the same word for Sabbath in the Greek. It is a Sabbath that never ends. In Heb.4.the author writes For the one who enters his rest he himself rests as God himself rested from his works. Today Jesus is our Sabbath. our every type, command, ordinance in the Old Testament He fulfilled.

Israel in the Old covenant rested in a day; we rest in the Person and His finished work. It was a picture of the future rest in the new covenant, the cross has the same implication, God finished his work. Our Sabbath day is rest in our soul, it is by faith. Under faith we can cease from our own works. Works that were required for the Israelites to do in the Old covenant to be accepted by god In this way the believer enters in and ceases from his own labors. God was bringing Israel to the promised land after their labors in Egypt this typifies rest in Messiah. “

Hebrews 4 tells us to be diligent to enter his Sabbath rest (4:11), we do this 365 days a year. This rest is found only in the Messiah who accomplished all of God’s work in our place. If you do not cease from your labors then you are not obedient to the New Testament Sabbath

Not the Law, nor Joshua could bring Israel into God's True Sabbath “rest”, “another day”, not a Seventh day or a First day, Sunday, but the day of Salvation. Heb.4:2 “For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as them” But he states they did not mix it with faith.

 (The scripture above refers to your tithing, for when you do not tithe, you rob the Kingdom of God, and if you do not tithe, the doors of heaven will not be open to prosper you.  Tithing opens up the doors of Heaven to bestow blessings upon you – at your each and every step). If you find you do not have money for the electric bill - still tithe your 10%.  Tithing should be first before any bill - even  your mortgage. When you do it the right way (tithing first), then the Lord will supply all provisions for all things that you need here in Earth - even your bills.  All He asks for you to do,  is  to return 10% of all of your substance, in thanks unto Him. You can keep the other 90%.  After all - it was because of Him that you have all things that are in possession of.  Now, this would be another message, but do you give first fruits unto the Lord?  You must give first fruits as well, whenever you receive an increase in thanks unto God.  That means, if you receive a $50.00 raise, the first $50.00 that you receive, you give back unto the Lord.  Talking about the Lord blessing you with increase and abundance afterward!!!!  The devil will be mad, but you are blessed going in and blessed going out!

All of the above scriptures from Joseph to Solomon to your life currently all have to do with the first ingredient in order to live a life of abundance and increase in all areas of your life (prosperity), and that one ingredient is the honor (obedience) of God.  Without it, you will lack and be in poverty, and believe what the devil states about all things of God – to keep you away from His Will for your life.

 

These teachings are according to the Word of God.  My own pastor had to teach me the truth of prosperity, and until I learned the truth, I did not know better. In order to know better, you have to learn better.  People, the fact that you believe that “prosperity teaching” is a sin or is a lie, is because the devil has you believing it the lie. The Lord's people die for the lack of knowledge - the lack of knowing the truth.  Search your heart for the truth of God – and begin studying scripture in your Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance under prosperity, prosperous and prosper, and know that it is God’s Will that you prosper with increase and abundance of all things, to the full till it overflows, through your obedience unto Him.  God is NOT a genie – you cannot rub Him like you can a lottery ticket.  It goes both ways. You must obey His commandments (and there are more than 10 – there are 613).  Also, the Kingdom of God is not a democracy – there is only one King, and you must Obey Him.

Jesus is Our Sabbath

"Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days." —Colossians 2:14-16

       There is no Sabbath Day today. Colossians 2:14-16 tells us that the ceremonials laws were nailed to the cross, including the Sabbath Day. Jesus became the fulfillment of what the Sabbath represented in the Old Testament. The Sabbath Day was a ceremonial Law, only for the Jews in the Old Testament. It pictured resting in Jesus Christ for salvation.  This is plainly taught in Hebrews 4:1-5...

"Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest."

The 6-days of men working pictured man's self-righteousness, which could never save (Isaiah 64:6; Romans 3:20). When we cease from our own self-righteous labors and rest upon the Lord for salvation, we are eternally saved. 

Today, we honor the Lord on Sunday (1st Corinthians 16:2), the first day of the week; but there is no Sabbath Day anymore. Jesus is our Sabbath and in Him alone do we rest for our salvation.

 

Rest in your Sabbath and receive your increase and abundance daily!!! (Solael 2012).

Don’t let the jealousy of the devil through you – block you from your blessing of complete healing, even in your finances.  You just do not understand the truth about prosperity, therefore, search God, search His Truth only, and find the truth of prosperity, according to the Kingdom of God – for only God can prosper and empower you.  NO one has the power to do it in their own ability.  Even evil gets their prosperity thrown at them (those He states are unworthy of His Grace – for He never breaks a promise) – for all things. The gold and your money belongs to God, because it is your share of the inheritance of Abraham.  Claim your inheritance; obey God, and experience increase and abundance.
