Don't you just love this season? People with whom you have no relational investments, walk by with a nod, a smile, and some may even express holiday cheer your way!

This is the season when even if you stretched funds January through November; someway, somehow you find just a "little" extra to spread festive joy!

This is also the time of year when expectations are at an all time high, and the manner in which we over expose our emotions are crucial to whether this is a positive memory or one which you plan to erase from the hard drive of your mind?

We must each celebrate and earnestly remember the true, reason for this beautiful and excitement filled season.....we are celebrating the birth of Christ Jesus. We are honoring Immanuel, we are blessed that His name means in our lives, that "God is with us"

”The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel”-- which means, “God with us" Matthew 1:23

There is such a relevance to this particular scripture and the state of which our global world is in at this time. It is crucial to embrace a true relationship with our Lord and Savior. This is a "safe place", where you can lean and depend on Him to never leave nor forsake you. Allow yourself to understand that as humans with finite minds and capabilities change is inevitable, and opinions will vary. Don't allow the "mask" of Yuletide Carols to create an illusion of what you know to be true of the integrity and character of one you know... oh so well.

It is unfair to place a milestone of expectations upon someone else, when you would not want them placed upon yourself. Consider your budget, and make a conscious decision to refrain from overspending. Not only should we be mindful of overspending financially....but over extending emotionally. Over extending emotionally can be draining and causes a facade of the "perfect holiday".

As the scripture states so vividly, "...and the will call him Immanuel. which means.."God with us.." Our true celebration must be...that God is with us. Of course we hear the statement, "Jesus is the reason for the season", but is this a reality or a rhyme? Are we truly seeking a relationship with the Father so that we know, when we encounter "situations" during this season...we can rest assured that..."God is with us". When we are faced with decisions in reference to the dynamics of family, we again can...count to ten and be at peace, for we know..."God is with us". Even when are spending habits are challenged, we can make the decision, what I purchase I pay for NOW...and not in 2012...for "God is with us". I will not be robbed of my emotional bank attempting to please and portray....I am at peace for "God is with us".

Whew....I am free, I have released the "expectations"....now I can move into this season in complete celebration and adoration for Christ as it should be..what about you....I pray Holy Holidays upon you and your families...Let's Celebrate "The Christ" together as we...
