Salvation is it eternal regardless of the circumstances or not come on lets get everyone’s opinion

But what is your take on what would have happened if the prodigal son or anyone who had received salvation backslides by rejecting the Father, His Son, the Holy Ghost and totally turned away from the faith and DIED without having repented or had the opportunity to return to the fold. Would that person be heading for hell or heaven? This is a conversation that came up with a couple of my work colleague when we were in an after discussion on Luke 15:11-32 so I would be interested in having a discussion and receiving everyone's point of view.

One stipulation I would like everyone who has an opinion either way to state where they believe Judas Iscariot destination will be Heaven or Hell. Thank you

PRAISE THE LORD FAMILY

TRULY OUR WAYS AREN'T GOD WAYS AND HIS WORD SAYS WE MUST BELIEVE IN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST AND CHANGE YOUR WAYS, CONFESS YOUR SINS AND BE BORN AGAIN, THE BACKSLIDER IS MARRIED TO GOD. YET HIS SOUL IS CONTAMINATED WITH SIN AND HIS BODY IS FULL OF UNCLEAN SPIRITS. IF HIS LIFE ISN'T CHANGED ...BY RENEWING HIS MINE AND CLEANSING HIS SOUL AND BODY....HE WILL NOT ENTER IN THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN. SATAN CAN NOT ENTER IN THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN....NONE OF HIS DEMON SPIRITS WILL EITHER....THE SINNER SOUL WILL GO TO HELL AND BURN IN THE LAKE OF FIRE. LORD LET US LIVE THE RIGHT LIFE THAT WE MAY HAVE A PLACE IN THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN...AMEN
I personally believe that salvation is God's gift to us. And as such I can only venture so far in my comments. But if I may..... when the Apostle Paul wrote.... "But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway." 1 Corinthians 9:27. I believe this shows that the doctrine 'once saved always saved' is not grounded in the scriptures. It takes dedication, faith, and work, to be all that we can be.... a holy vessel. It really amounts to the fact that we get out of this divine walk, what we put into it. Do we pray, do we study the word, do we seek His will? And yet we are judged by the Light we have, Matthew 25:40. Now as far as Judas Iscariot and his state. I leave that one to God. He like King Saul in the Old Book realized his error, and lived to regret it, hence his end at his own hand, not unlike Saul. And yet as the Prophet Samuel told Saul.... "and tomorrow shalt thou and thy sons be with me" 1 Samuel 28:19 - I can only say when deliverence is nigh, take it. We pray, we hope, we ask, for God to have mercy on those who's state only He can determine, but for us like Joshua of old, we must say.... "but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." I like to think I should take care of myself, and leave certain mysteries to God. But I appreciate a question that takes me to the WORD in search. And this I must say is just my personal belief, concerning judgement and the hereafter. I too must confess....
"I don't like to commit myself about heaven and hell - you see, I have friends in both places." - Mark Twain
Regarding Judas, I think that Matt. 26:24 gives us the answer where it says, "The Son of Man will go just as it is written about him. But woe to that man who betrays the Son of Man! It would be better for him if he had not been born". From that verse I think it would be right to say that Judas didn't get to heaven. It's worth noting that when Peter denied Jesus, he wept afterwards whereas Judas went and hanged himself.

Regarding the Prodigal son of Luke 15:11-32, I believe that his repentance (coming back to the Father) saved him from hell. If we look at v.24, it says, "this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found".
We know that the son was not physically dead so he must have been spiritually dead and he was said to be made "alive again" which can only mean "alive again spiritually" so he must have been -
1) alive spiritually at some stage and on his way to heaven, then
2) he went into sin and died spiritually and was heading for hell, then
3) he repented and became alive again and back on the road to heaven.

I personally believe that there is no question that we can lose our salvation. I have some videos on the issue. Below I will put my latest video called Law and Grace and then the first of a four part series on Salvation (Part 4 is on the Once Saved doctrine). I hope putting the videos here are OK. It is a far quicker way of expressing my point then putting a mile of text here.

God bless,
Mick
Thank you.
Hi Mick the video you posted actually support the fact that we can lose our salvation if we dilerbately or continue in sin. I think you need to re listen to the vidoes. I also advise you to read Ez.18:24 and Matthew 25:31-end. We will not go to heaven regardless of our life style.

In regards to the prodigal son. we do know if you sin and repent that you will be forgiven that is not the question the question is if you sin and reject Christ and chose not to repent then died in sin without repenting would you still go to heaven.

In regards to Judas's faith remember Jesus descended into hell for 3 days to preach repentence to those that died in ignorance could Judas be among those that have repented and been saved from the grave. Just a thought

Thank you Brian you are correct once save alway save regardless is not grounded in Scripture as some is deluding themself. Ezeliel 18:24 said if a righteous man start to live the life of an unrighteous man all his righteousness shall be forgotten and he will die in sin. Matthew 25:31 to end have Jesus separating true believers from those believers who did not walk righteously

Evang. that is also my belief. Sin has no part of heaven otherwise why was Adam and Eve evicted from the Garden and a guard put around the tree of life if it was not to ensure sin did not have eternal life

Hello there Angela, you must have misread what I said as I firmly believe we can lose our salvation. I made the two videos that you commented on.

God bless,
Mick

God, Has Mercy for whom he will ,so that would most likely be soul gone on to hell ,we don't want to die in our sins,Keep the Lord daily every hour we need the Lord , No man knoweth the hour for when our time is up on this side, you want to stay in God Will, Don't let the Lord catch you with your work undone , It Will Be To Late
1. Now in Genesis we know God's intention was for man to have eternal life because man was not prevented to eat from the tree of life only from the tree of knowledge of good and evil so God did not intend man to know evil or to die. Once sin came in man knew evil and just as God had evicted Lucifer in the first dispensation, man was evicted from the garden and the tree of life was then protected.

While man knew only good he was free to live forever, but that position change when man knew evil he was no longer allowed to live for eternity as God did not want evil to live forever. SO FOR ANYONE TO SAY THAT A PERSON ONCE BORN AGAIN WILL HAVE ENTERNAL LIFE NO MATTER HOW HE WALK does not make sense. There would have been no reason for Adam and Eve's eviction. THERE WOULD ALSO BE NO REASON FOR ANYONE TO BE BORN AGAIN

2. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM should not perish, BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE.

As long as mankind is in this world the opportunity of salvation is there for eternity. However, there is a stipulation on how the individual gets it and have eternal life. The believer must BELIEVE in the son. When someone backslides and walk unrighteously they no longer believe in the son so they forfeit their right to eternal life unless they REPENT.

If one WALKS IN the way of satan they do not believe in the son, the way of the son is righteous you cannot walk unrighteous and profess to believe in the son.

Ezekiel 18:24 clearly show that it is possible for a righteous man to become unrighteous that is why it states that once that occurs the righteousness of that man is forgotten, he forfeit all past righteousness. If a man repents then he builds his righteousness if he does not he dies in sin.

Fact is Jesus died for our sin that will never change so for all eternity we will always have the chance of salvation to eternal life because of the shedding of blood I will always have the opportunity to repent of my sins that is what is eternal the opportunity will also be there for me but I must believe I cannot believe if I am in sin because sin is not of the son it is of the devil.

YOU CANNOT BE A BACKSLIDER AND ENJOY ETERNAL LIFE SIN IS NOT ALLOWED IN THAT GREAT AND PERFECT LAND
Amen Angela. The Once Saved people say that if you sin you will still get to heaven but you will lose your rewards and this comes from misinterpreting 1 Cor 3:1-15. In this passage there is no mention of sin but it is talking about rewarding the saints - the passage warns us to have our foundation on Christ and not on other teachings ... like "I follow Paul" or "I follow Apollos" etc.

God bless,
Mick
