If God appeared in a visible form and told you to go and walk down to the corner, and you didn't hesitate at all but walked right down to the corner, what would that be? That's right! Obedience. By the power of the Holy Spirit, Abraham saw God in the night. What did Abraham do? He believed God and in believing God it was counted unto him as righteousness. (Gal 3:6) The Lord appeared unto Abram, and said unto him, "I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect" (Gen 17:1). Is there any sinless, perfect one on this earth? No! Jesus Christ was the only perfect One who is without sin. Yet, God commissioned Abram to walk before Him and to be perfect. What did God mean? God never requires more of anyone than he can fulfill. The Hebrew word rendered "perfect" means complete, entire, whole. God was saying, "Grow up Abraham! Be complete in me! The word for "Almighty God" in verse 17 is El Shaddai, The Lord said, "Let me be your El Shaddai." El is Elohim in all His strenght and power. El is God the omnipotent, all powerful Creator of heaven and earth. El is the God who knows all, and sees all, and who preforms all things for his people. The other word, Shaddia, is a beautiful tender. Shad is the hebrew word for a woman's breast. A little helpless, newborn baby get everything it needs from it mother's breast. The little child draws the milk from it's mother's breast and when it does, that milk becomes it's strenght. It goes into the bones and sinews of it's body to nourish the life of the child. It causes the child to live and to grow in strenght. God was saying to Abraham, "I am your All-Sufficient Sourse of help and strenght." "Abraham, I am your life!, "I, Jehovah God (El Shaddia) am your strenght. I am your nourishment, Abraham, I am your food, Abraham, Draw your life from me! Walk before be and be thou perfect! Abraham, you don't have to walk in your own strenght, you don't have to depend on your own power and ablility, Draw from God, Abraham! How marvelously high above our ways are the ways of God our Father. Only EL Shaddia could be a "nursing Father"! It is His desiremto care for each of His Children with wisdom and love for surpassing anything we could ever think or imagine; yet He wants us in our weakness as we face great difficulties to cry out to Him. He wants to relate to us just as He unto Abraham, with Moses, with Joshua, with Samuel, with King David, with all the kings, priests and prophets under the Old Covenantbut moreso, this is why he sent Jesus, His only Son, so that he could walk and talk with you personally, intimately, in unconditional love, mercy and great grace! In the fast pase society in which we live, are you experiencing God in a true relationship and fellowship by the power of God's Holy Spirit? Are you spending quality time before Him on a daily bases? As a priest unto Jesus, this is a divine requirement daily. Just as God commanded the Hebrew people to go out each morning to receive their daily Manna from heaven, so it is with our live with God. We draw from Him everlasting life and why so many Christians fall back and lose fellowship is because they never knew what true fellowship and relationship with the Lord was really all about! Their relationship was out of duty of going to Church services that became mondame, furtile, and there was no manifestations of the power of God's Spirit with them. God is saying to you today, "Walk thou before me and be thou perfect! He is your Sourse, He is your life! He wants you to walk with Him, talk with Him and experience divine relationship and fellowship by the power of his Spirit. He knows your needs and even though you may be experiencing the hardships and trials of life, the trying of your faith works patience. God has a living word for you in the direction you are to go and what you are to do. All the people who experienced great faith also prayed, and listened to what the Lord would say and there were great mistakes and errors made when people like Joshua, acted upon his own instead of going before the Lord and getting his counsel. When we go before Him and receive His word, we shall never fail and this is our heritage as being true kings, priests and prophets unto the Lord! Blessings!
